Hull Inspection and cleaning
We provide hull inspection and cleaning services so that your boat can maintain its speed and efficiency throughout the boating season. Regularly cleaned bottom paint lasts longer saving you money and extending time between haul-outs. We use soft and medium bristle brushes to clean your painted surfaces and plastic scrapers to gently clean your running gear. According to Washington State law only hard anti-fouling paints can be cleaned in the water so if you have hard paint ask us about getting a full hull cleaning. If you have soft paint we can clean your waterline so that your boat looks sharp.
Zinc Replacement
Scheduled zinc replacement is extremely important to maintain the integrity of your propellers, shafts, struts, through-hulls, thrusters and all other underwater metals. Without anodes (zincs) your hardware would be eaten away by galvanic corrosion, an electrochemical process where ions are robbed from submerged metals.
Because galvanic corrosion is an electrical process, we make sure that we clean the contact points on your props and shafts perfectly before installing anodes. These connections need to be thought about like battery contacts. Too often we find zincs on boats that did not have the anti-fouling paint cleaned fully from beneath them which can easily eliminate their protective power.
Even when perfectly installed, zincs need to be replaced before they are completely gone in order to keep your boat fully protected. It is recommended that they be replaced when they have 40% of their mass left. Here is a great guide to understanding corrosion.
Prop Changing
If you need your propellers removed for servicing or modification or if you need new props installed we have you covered.
Dock and Buoy Maintenance
The underwater hardware on your dock or buoy is being corroded away just like a propeller would without a zinc. We can inspect your dock or mooring for compromised hardware, replace old or broken components, clean chains or lines of excessive growth, search for and recover lost mooring anchors, replace entire mooring systems, you name it. Charter Inspections and Yacht Brokers
If you manage a charter fleet or yacht brokerage, we offer special diving service rates for large contracts. We can take over the underwater care of your fleet. We will provide inspections, hull cleaning, zincs and more while sending you regular reports to keep you up to speed.
